日本人が好きな国内観光スポットと外国人が好きな日本の観光スポットは、少し違いますよね？
今日は、僕の住んでいたシドニーの人たちが好きな、オーストラリアの国内観光スポットを紹介します。これで皆さんも、オーストラリアで現地の人みたいに観光できますよ！
第3位：Ayers Rock
エアーズロックはオーストラリアの真ん中にある、とても大きな赤い岩石です。山ではなくて、岩石なんですよ！オーストラリアの真ん中に大きな都市はないので、自然がとても奇麗です。ただ、海から遠いのでいつ行っても暑いです。夏の平均温度は、37℃くらいになります。
エアーズロックの周りにある赤い砂は、オーストラリアのイメージを象徴しています。なので、オーストラリア人はみんなエアーズロックに行きます。ちなみに、原住民のアボリジニは「ウルル」と呼んでいます。
第2位：Melbourne
メルボルンはオーストラリアで2番目に大きな都市です。シドニーとは雰囲気が違って、もっとおしゃれでヨーロッパみたいな街です。今までに2回、「世界で最も暮らしやすい都市」に選ばれたことがあります。美味しくておしゃれなカフェがたくさんあるし、美術館やシアターも人気です。
第1位：Great Barrier Reef / Tropical North Queensland
第1位は日本人の観光客にも人気の、北オーストラリアにある「グレートバリアーリーフ」です。1981年に、UNESCO世界遺産に登録されています。
透明な海と白い砂のビーチが綺麗で、小さくて自然のままの島が9,000個もあります。小さい島からサンゴ礁まで船に乗って、それからカラフルな魚たちと一緒にシュノーケリングを楽しむのがオススメです。
暑いエアーズロックからバリアリーフの奇麗な海まで、オーストラリアでは色んな環境を楽しめます。オーストラリアでは、ぜひこれらのスポットに行ってみてください！

Thank you for sharing your interesting topics. The capital of Australia is Canberra, but the city is not famous for us. For example, Tokyo, the capital of Japan, is very famous and there are a lot of places that you like to visit. Sydney is the most important city in Australia; therefore, JAL and Qantas operate non-stop flight from Japan. I don’t understand why Melbourne is a nice city to live. Is Melbourne similar to Osaka and Kyoto where people in the area have their own culture?
I went to Cairns and enjoyed snorkeling in Great Barrier Reef. We stayed at Sheraton Mirage Port Douglas which is about 50 km north of Cairns. The hotel was so nice and enjoyed Christmas dinner with a Santa wearing a bathing suit.

Yes, there is not much in Canberra aside from the government and museums. Canberra was created because the government could not decide on whether to make Melbourne or Sydney the capital (Canberra is exactly in between those cities).
Melbourne is a nice place to live for a number of reasons. It has reliable public transport, lots of nice cafes and shops and usually is the location for most cultural events in Australia.
It’s great to hear that you enjoyed Cairns. I have stayed at the Sheraton Mirage on the Gold Coast and it was very nice. I recommend that you visit Melbourne is you return to Australia as it is quite different to Sydney.
